Steamed crabs

About steamed crab pricing at Nick's Fish House

Blue crab prices fluctuate with the Chesapeake Bay harvest and should be confirmed before every visit.

Nick's Fish House steams blue crabs to order with Old Bay seasoning -- the classic Maryland preparation. Crabs are sold by the half dozen or full dozen in sizes ranging from smalls through jumbos.

Chesapeake Bay blue crab prices are inherently market-driven, varying with the Chesapeake harvest, season, and water temperature. In recent seasons, jumbo crabs have run approximately $180 per dozen; medium and large sizes typically range from $80 to $120 per dozen. These prices can shift week to week, particularly at the start and end of the Maryland crab season (roughly May through October).

Nick's posts current crab pricing on their Facebook page and Instagram before each service. For the day's price, call 410-347-4123 or check social media before making the trip.

About Nick's Fish House

Baltimore's waterfront seafood landmark since 2004.

Nick's Fish House opened in 2004 as one of the first restaurants at what is now Baltimore Peninsula, a mixed-use waterfront development in South Baltimore. The site is set on the Patapsco River with direct views of the Hanover Street Bridge, making it one of the most scenic restaurant decks in Baltimore.

The restaurant has been operated since 2015 by Steve Montgomery, Eric Sugrue, and Jim Weisgerber, who purchased the property from Sagamore Ventures in September 2024. The ownership team operates several other restaurants in Delaware and Maryland and has announced plans to expand and upgrade the Nick's Fish House facility.

Nick's is built around Maryland's definitive food culture: Chesapeake Bay blue crabs seasoned with Old Bay, steamed to order at the table. The menu extends to jumbo lump crab cakes, a crab-stuffed pretzel, shrimp and grits, a raw bar, and the hand-squeezed Orange Crush that defines the Baltimore waterfront bar scene. Awards include the Baltimore Sun's 2023 Critics' Pick for Best Outdoor Dining and 2025 recognitions for Best Raw Bar, Best View, Best Cocktails, and Best Outdoor Dining.
