About Ivy Asia

Pan-Asian fine dining at the heart of London's restaurant scene

Ivy Asia launched in 2019 under the Caprice Holdings umbrella — the group behind The Ivy, Scott's, Annabel's and dozens of other London hospitality institutions, all helmed by restaurateur Richard Caring. Ivy Asia was conceived as a pan-Asian counterpart to The Ivy's British sensibility: the same showmanship, the same emphasis on atmosphere and occasion dining, but applied to the cuisines of East and Southeast Asia.

The interiors are the most talked-about in London's fine-dining circuit — tiger murals, lacquered gold, dramatic mood lighting, and table arrangements that make every seat feel like a stage set. The kitchen spans a wide Asian canon: Japanese sushi and miso-glazed fish, Chinese wok cookery and dim sum, Thai aromatics and Korean-influenced marinades. It's eclectic by design.

The restaurant opened its first site at St Paul's in 2019, followed by Chelsea and Mayfair, and has since expanded internationally. It's consistently ranked among London's most-booked and most-photographed dining destinations.

Common questions

Ivy Asia — frequently asked questions

What is Ivy Asia, where are the locations, what to order, vegetarian options, reservations and dress code — answered.

What is Ivy Asia?

Ivy Asia is a pan-Asian fine-dining restaurant group in London, launched in 2019 by Richard Caring's Caprice Holdings — the group behind The Ivy, Scott's and Annabel's. Ivy Asia is known for its extraordinary tiger-themed interiors, dramatic moody lighting, and an Asian-fusion menu that draws from Japanese, Chinese, Thai and Korean cooking. It quickly became one of London's most-photographed dining destinations.

What type of food does Ivy Asia serve?

Ivy Asia serves innovative pan-Asian cuisine spanning multiple traditions. The menu includes Japanese sushi and sashimi, dim sum and gyoza, miso black cod, wok-fried lobster, Thai green curry, Wagyu beef skewers and a full cocktail programme. The kitchen blends Japanese technique with Chinese, Thai and Korean flavour profiles — it's eclectic rather than focused on one cuisine, which is what 'pan-Asian' means in practice.

Where are Ivy Asia locations?

Ivy Asia currently operates three London restaurants: Ivy Asia St Paul's (1 New Change, EC4M), Ivy Asia Chelsea (197 King's Road, SW3) and Ivy Asia Mayfair (20 Brook Mews North, W1K). The group has also expanded internationally. Confirm current operating locations and hours on the official site at ivyasia.com before visiting.

Is Ivy Asia good for vegetarians?

Yes — Ivy Asia caters reasonably well for vegetarians. The menu includes clearly marked vegetarian and vegan dishes including edamame gyoza, vegetable spring rolls, tofu green curry, wok-fried greens, edamame, mochi ice cream, matcha crème brûlée and yuzu cheesecake. The kitchen can adapt some dishes on request. Confirm allergen and dietary requirements when booking.

Do I need a reservation at Ivy Asia?

Yes — reservations are strongly recommended at all Ivy Asia locations, particularly on Friday and Saturday evenings and for larger groups. Ivy Asia is one of London's most in-demand fine-dining rooms. Walk-ins may be accommodated at the bar or at quieter weekday times, but booking in advance via the official website is the safest approach. You can book at ivyasia.com.

What is the dress code at Ivy Asia?

Ivy Asia is a smart-casual to smart venue — the dramatic interior sets the tone. Most diners dress stylishly; think cocktail-adjacent attire rather than formal black-tie. Jeans are generally fine if paired with a smart top or blazer. Trainers and casual sportswear are discouraged. The atmosphere is glamorous rather than stuffy, so err on the side of looking put-together and you'll fit right in.
