Munchkins

Munchkins: Dunkin's donut holes (10 / 25 / 50 packs)

Munchkins are Dunkin's signature donut holes — bite-sized, variety-packed and one of the cheapest share items at any major chain. Sold in three sizes only, in pre-mixed variety boxes (Glazed, Jelly, Chocolate Glazed, Old Fashioned, Powdered Sugar), with single-flavor boxes available in many stores on request.

The 10-pack at $2.49 is roughly $0.25 per Munchkin — the entry-point share. The 25-pack at $5.99 drops the per-piece cost to about $0.24. The 50-pack at $9.99 is the party-size box and the cheapest per piece at about $0.20 each — the cheapest per-piece donut option on the entire Dunkin' menu.

Munchkins are made fresh daily at most stores. They're the most-shared item in the Dunkin' lineup for kids' birthdays, office mornings and tailgate runs — and the 50-pack is the chain's highest-margin share SKU per dollar of input. Single Munchkin flavors (e.g., 25 all-Glazed) are usually available if asked at the counter, but the variety-box default is what's listed.

  • 10-piece — $2.49 (~$0.25 each)
  • 25-piece — $5.99 (~$0.24 each)
  • 50-piece — $9.99 (~$0.20 each) — cheapest per piece
  • Default variety: Glazed, Jelly, Chocolate Glazed, Old Fashioned, Powdered Sugar
  • Single-flavor boxes available on request in most stores
  • About 60 cal each (Glazed); ~80 cal (Jelly)
Brand history

Why Dunkin' dropped “Donuts” from its name in 2018

On January 2, 2018, Dunkin' Donuts officially rebranded to just “Dunkin'.” The change wasn't cosmetic — it reflected a fundamental shift in what the chain sold.

By 2017, coffee and other beverages accounted for more than 60% of Dunkin' sales in the U.S. — donuts were the smaller half of the business. Dunkin' had been positioning itself as a coffee-first brand for years (the “America Runs on Dunkin'” campaign launched in 2006 leaned heavily into the cup, not the donut), but the name still read as a bakery.

The rebrand kept the orange-and-pink color palette, the rounded sans-serif logotype and the slogan intact — only the word “Donuts” was removed. Stores started rolling out new signage on a remodel-by-remodel basis; legacy “Dunkin' Donuts” storefronts are still common in older buildings, but every new build since 2018 reads “Dunkin'.”

The chain still sells donuts — 50+ varieties, 100 million Munchkins boxes a year. But the legal entity, the website (dunkindonuts.com still redirects but the brand is “Dunkin'”), the app and the marketing are all “Dunkin'” now. The 2018 change tracked the same playbook Starbucks ran in 2011 when it dropped “Coffee” from its logo — a brand simplifying around its identity instead of its founding category.

The Northeast (especially New York metro, Boston), California and Hawaii typically run 15–25% higher; the South and Midwest typically sit at or below the prices shown. Price comparison

How Dunkin' prices compare to Starbucks, McCafé, Dutch Bros & 7 Brew

Like-for-like price check across the five most-searched U.S. coffee chains, May 2026 national averages. Dunkin' columns use Medium (14oz); other chains use the comparable middle-tier size (Grande for Starbucks, Medium for McCafé and Dutch Bros, Large for 7 Brew).

Item (mid-tier size)Dunkin'StarbucksMcCaféDutch Bros7 Brew
Signature caramel latte (hot)$4.49$5.95$4.69$5.50$5.95

Donut / pastry$1.39$3.25$3.50
Breakfast sandwich$5.49$5.95$5.19

McCafé pricing reflects McDonald's U.S. national-average. Dutch Bros and 7 Brew skew higher on drinks (drive-thru-only operating cost) but don't carry the bakery side of the menu. Starbucks is consistently the most expensive across drink categories; Dunkin' and McCafé are the value picks. Confirm with each chain's app for your local store.

About Dunkin'

From “Open Kettle” in Quincy to America's biggest coffee-and-donuts chain.

William Rosenberg opened the first “Open Kettle” in Quincy, Massachusetts in 1950. Within months he'd renamed it “Dunkin' Donuts” — a nod to his observation that customers were dunking their donuts in coffee. By the 1960s the chain had crossed into franchising, by the 1980s it was a national fixture, and by 2018 it had quietly become a coffee-first business — coffee and beverages at that point drove more than 60% of sales. The chain officially dropped “Donuts” from its name on January 2, 2018, becoming simply Dunkin'.

Today Dunkin' operates roughly 9,000 U.S. restaurants and around 12,000 worldwide. It's a subsidiary of Inspire Brands, the same private restaurant group that owns Arby's, Sonic, Buffalo Wild Wings, Jimmy John's and Baskin-Robbins. The chain's identity is anchored by Original Blend coffee, year-round iced coffee, the Boston Kreme donut, Munchkins donut holes and a breakfast-sandwich lineup — wrapped in the “America Runs on Dunkin'” slogan that's been running since 2006.

Common questions

Dunkin' menu — frequently asked questions

Quick answers to the questions people most commonly ask about Dunkin's menu, prices, sizes, donuts and DD Perks.

How much is a Medium Dunkin' Iced Coffee in 2026?

A Medium (14oz) Original Iced Coffee at Dunkin' is around $2.99 at most U.S. locations as of May 2026. The Small (10oz) runs about $2.49 and the Large (20oz) runs about $3.49 — Extra Large (24oz) is around $3.99. Pricing varies by market: the Northeast, New York metro, California and Hawaii typically run 15–25% higher; the South and Midwest typically run at or below those prices. Confirm via the Dunkin' app for your specific store.

What size is a Dunkin' Medium vs. Large?

Dunkin' uses a four-tier sizing ladder for most drinks: Small (10oz), Medium (14oz), Large (20oz) and Extra Large (24oz). Iced drinks are served in 16oz / 24oz / 32oz cups respectively (the volume includes ice). Hot espresso drinks (lattes, cappuccinos, macchiatos) typically only run Small through Large. Refreshers and Sparkd' Energy come in Small, Medium and Large only. The size ladder is one of the easiest ways to tell Dunkin' from Starbucks — Starbucks uses Tall / Grande / Venti instead.

Is Dunkin' cheaper than Starbucks?

Yes, materially so on a like-for-like basis. A Medium Dunkin' signature latte (Caramel Craze) runs around $4.49 versus a Grande Starbucks caramel macchiato at around $5.95 — roughly $1.46 less. A Medium Dunkin' Iced Coffee at $2.99 versus a Grande Starbucks Iced Coffee at $3.95 is about $1 less. Dunkin' brewed Original Blend at $2.59 vs. Starbucks Pike Place at $3.45 is roughly $0.86 less. Food pricing also favors Dunkin' — a breakfast sandwich runs about $5.49 at Dunkin' versus $5.95–$7.45 at Starbucks. Across the menu, Dunkin' is typically 15–25% cheaper than Starbucks for an equivalent drink.

What happened to Dunkin' Donuts? Did they drop “Donuts”?

Yes. On January 2, 2018, Dunkin' Donuts officially rebranded to just “Dunkin'” — the “Donuts” word was dropped from the official name, logo and signage. The chain still sells donuts (50+ varieties), but coffee had grown into more than 60% of sales by then, and the brand wanted its name to reflect a coffee-first identity. The orange-and-pink color palette, the rounded sans-serif logotype and the slogan “America Runs on Dunkin'” all carried over from the previous brand. Some legacy storefront signage still reads “Dunkin' Donuts” — the chain has been swapping in “Dunkin'” signage on a remodel-by-remodel basis since 2018.

How much are Dunkin' Munchkins?

Munchkins (Dunkin's donut holes) come in three variety-pack sizes: 10-piece for around $2.49, 25-piece for around $5.99, and 50-piece for around $9.99. The standard 10-pack includes Glazed, Jelly, Chocolate Glazed, Old Fashioned and Powdered Sugar — you can usually customize the assortment in store. On a per-piece basis the 50-pack is the cheapest (about $0.20/piece) — useful if you're feeding a group. Pricing varies by market.

What's in a Sausage Egg & Cheese Croissant from Dunkin'?

The Sausage, Egg & Cheese on a Croissant at Dunkin' is a sausage patty, a folded fried egg and a slice of American cheese on a buttery croissant, toasted to order. It runs around $5.49 as a standalone, or about $8.49 as a combo with a medium Iced Coffee. It's Dunkin's signature breakfast sandwich and the most-ordered breakfast item across the chain. The same filling is also available on a Bagel ($5.49) or an English Muffin ($4.99); a Bacon Egg & Cheese variant on the same bread choices runs about $0.20 less.

How many donut flavors does Dunkin' have?

Dunkin' offers 50+ donut varieties across its U.S. menu, though any single store typically stocks 18–24 at a time. Year-round mainstays include Boston Kreme, Glazed, Chocolate Frosted, Strawberry Frosted, Vanilla Frosted, Old Fashioned, Sugar Raised, Powdered Sugar, French Cruller, Jelly, Bavarian Kreme, Maple Bar, Blueberry Cake and Apple Fritter. Seasonal donuts cycle in around Halloween (spider-web spider donuts), Valentine's Day (heart-shaped donuts), St. Patrick's Day (green-frosted) and the fall pumpkin window. Most donuts run $1.39 each; specialty donuts like the Apple Fritter run $1.99.

Does Dunkin' have decaf coffee?

Yes. Dunkin' offers Decaf Original Blend brewed coffee at every U.S. store, priced the same as regular brewed coffee ($2.59 for a Medium). Espresso-based drinks (lattes, cappuccinos, macchiatos, signature lattes) can also be ordered decaf — Dunkin's espresso machines can run a decaf shot on request at no upcharge. Iced coffee and cold brew are also available decaf in most stores, though the iced-decaf is brewed-decaf poured over ice rather than a separately decaffeinated cold brew.

How does DD Perks work?

DD Perks is Dunkin's free rewards program, accessed via the Dunkin' app or DunkinDonuts.com. Members earn 10 points per dollar spent at Dunkin' (5x boost days are common), and points convert to free-drink rewards on a tiered ladder: 700 points = a free classic drink, 900 points = a free signature latte, 1,200 points = a free signature drink + food pairing. Members also get a free birthday drink, occasional exclusive offers in-app (BOGO drinks, $1 espresso days), early access to seasonal menus and members-only pricing on Cold Brew and Refreshers. Sign-up is free; no payment-card linkage required.

What's the Pumpkin Spice Signature Latte price at Dunkin'?

The Pumpkin Spice Signature Latte at Dunkin' is around $4.49 for a Medium hot, $4.69 for a Medium iced, and around $5.49 for a Large iced. It's a fall-only seasonal drink — the lineup typically returns in mid-to-late August and runs through November. The drink is a hot or iced latte with pumpkin and warm-spice syrups, whipped cream and a pumpkin-cinnamon topping. Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew and Pumpkin Spice Donuts cycle in alongside it. Pricing is roughly $1 cheaper than a Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte equivalent.
